How Does This Event Work?
If you decide to set a table, you'll design a tablescape based around this year's theme. Tables seat eight people, so you can purchase some or all of your table's seats if you choose. Other attendees will be assigned to any empty seats.
On Friday, April 14th, you'll bring your materials to the venue and set up your table. Please see below for suggestions about what to bring and what is prohibited. We will provide more information about the setup process closer to the event.
On Saturday, April 15th, there may be a small amount of time to add any last-minute details (fresh flowers, etc.), but tables must be complete by the time the luncheon begins at 11:00. Attendees will have the first hour to view the tables, vote on their favorites, and purchase raffle tickets. The venue provides tableware for lunch, so you'll move your dishes and, if desired, your drinkware and silverware to a storage area. After the meal, announcements of winners, and conclusions, you will pack up your belongings and load them into your car.
What To Bring
You will need to bring the following:
Optional: Stemware, chargers, flatware, sugar & creamer, salt & pepper shakers, napkins, tablecloth, other decorative elements.
Tables measure 66" round. Tablecloths to the floor would be 120” round; 108” will also work well.
Shelby Gardens will supply white tablecloths, white napkins, white chair covers, water glasses and flatware.
Please contact the Crocker House Museum if you are interested in borrowing any tableware. Some of our volunteers are willing to loan their items and may have what you're looking for.
What NOT To Bring
The venue prohibits the following items:
Thank you so much for volunteering to set a table! We look forward to seeing everyone’s creative tablescapes; it should be a fun-filled day.
